I'm not big on talking about myself, so I'll give ye a brief description and than I'll provide a brief bio of this site, which spawned from another site.

I'm almost a quarter-century old and live in New Hampshire with my esteemed cat, Trouble, pictured below. Some of my interests include:

Reading. Mostly fiction, but sometimes an interesting non-fiction book comes along.

Writing. My stories are often subtle horror, meaning, to me anyway, that they aren't gore-fests, where people get torn to pieces by evil monsters. There's really nothing scary about that, I don't know what the big deal is? My style has changed a lot since I wrote the two short stories in the fiction section.

Building Computers. Yes, I like to do this even though it's expensive. I feel much better having a system where I know what's in it, rather than some branded, boxed system, that's a big beige-colored mystery. There's a reason why they can sell them for 4 or 5 hundred, and it can't be all good. Well, anyway, Mom was right, we get more expensive as we get older hehehehe. :-)

Video Games. This is a good one, in fact I should have put this under writing, but I'm too lazy to cut and paste this all the way up there. I like some PS2 games, but I'm mostly a PC game player. I like RPG's such as Command & Conquer as well as action and shooter titles like Tomb Raider and Half-Life 2, if it ever comes out. I also have this rather scary addiction to SimCity 4 and The Sims.

Okay, sick of reading about me yet? I am, so I'll move on to the next topic.

I began a web site a loooooooonnnnnnnnnnggggggggg time ago, in 1996 or 1997 called Grey Wolf's Page of Horror. It was on a free web site sevice called Geocities and at the time I had just gotten on the Internet. This is also when my interest in design and programming started. Anyway, GWPH was much like this web site, except I didn't post my own work and I didn't know a whole heck of a lot about programming. I also had to use FrontPage :-(, which I don't like anymore.

GWPH grew into a much larger site and in 1999, we (myself and the cat) made a descision to move from a free server to a paid server and the site became darkhighways.net. Then, as with all things, I guess, I got very busy and I couldn't come online so much. Darkhighways became outdated so I discontinued it, until now . . .

Today, I have two jobs I like and I have a little more time on my hands than I used to. I also have DSL from Verizon, which rocks! It makes doing web stuff much more conveinent.

I really missed having my own web site and I regret letting darkhighways.net go so I'm not going to repeat a big mistake. And here we go again, with the full blessings of Trouble.

If you remember darkhighways.net or if you can remember back far enough to the days of GWPH and you used to chat with me on ICQ, you can still try to catch me, but I'm on Yahoo! Messenger now. My ID is nickpayne002, or you can use the button below. You can also send an email my way if you prefer.
